About the Role & You:

This is a genuine part-time position with indicative working hours of Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm. This role would suit a cook who is wanting to utilise their interest and experience with cooking nutritious meals to continue building their career.

You will enjoy running your own kitchen to a high standard including nutritious menu planning incorporating safety requirements for children with allergies and dietary restrictions (in consultation with Centre Management), meal preparation, stock calculations and ordering, and maintaining kitchen hygiene and safe food handling practices.

The cook is responsible for completing all associated documentation and must ensure thorough and detailed record keeping at all times in order to comply with food licencing requirements.

Start now for an extended handover period so you can settle in gradually before transitioning to full responsibility for the role in coming months.

Selection criteria:

• Relevant qualifications (eg Cert II or Cert III) in commercial cookery, hospitality or kitchen operations - highly regarded
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience and/or certifications in nutrition, menu preparation and cooking for groups
• Previous experience in a childcare or other educational setting - highly regarded
• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
• First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management certificates (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience and knowledge of managing dietary requirements
• Hold or be eligible to apply for a valid paid Blue Card (WWC). Restricted persons need not apply.
