Administration Officer - Childcare Centre

Building Futures Montessori Forest Lake is seeking a full-time Administrator to fill a Parental Leave contract until early June 2026 with the possibility of continued employment with Building Futures upon completion. This role is available for an immediate start with an extended handover period and would suit an experienced Administrator looking to develop their skills in an educational setting.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, rostered Monday-Friday within centre operating hours. The initial position will be a maximum term contract until early June 2026 with the potential for ongoing employment in an alternative role after completion of this contract.

Your daily duties and responsibilities will vary but include:

  • General administrative duties - mail and email processing, telephone and in-person enquiries
  • Wait list management, centre tours and enrolments
  • Customer account support and CCS processing
  • Outstanding debt monitoring and follow-up
  • Document management - filing, archiving

Selection Criteria

  • Prior experience in an Administration role (experience within a childcare or educational setting highly regarded but not essential).
  • Customer service or front office/reception experience highly regarded.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of childcare software packages and current childcare subsidy entitlements highly regarded.
  • Point of sale and account management experience highly regarded.
  • Business administration qualifications highly regarded but not essential.
  • Early Childhood Education Care qualifications highly regarded.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Education qualifications or experience highly regarded.
  • Paid Blue card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain. Restricted persons need not apply.
