Early Childhood Administration Officer

Building Futures Montessori are looking for a full-time administrator to join the early childhood education and care team at our established, family-owned childcare centre in Wavell Heights (Brisbane Northside).

This role is available for an immediate start and would suit an experienced Administrator looking to develop their skills in an educational setting, or an Educator who is seeking to build on their existing knowledge of the sector by moving into an administration role. To assist them in their role, the successful applicant will be supported to complete studies in Certificate III in Montessori Early Childhood Education through our associated training college, MECTA.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position, rostered Monday-Friday within centre operating hours (indicative shift range 8am to 5pm). The successful candidate will make an integral contribution to the smooth running of the centre, carrying out their duties in an efficient and professional manner.

Your daily duties and responsibilities will vary but include:

  • General administrative duties - mail and email processing, telephone and in-person enquiries
  • Wait list management, centre tours and enrolments
  • Customer account support and CCS processing
  • Outstanding debt monitoring and follow-up
  • Document management - filing, archiving

Selection Criteria

  • Administration experience within a childcare or educational setting highly regarded but not essential.
  • Customer service or front office reception experience highly regarded.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of childcare software packages and current childcare subsidy entitlements highly regarded.
  • Experience with point of sale and account management highly regarded.
  • Business administration qualifications highly regarded but not essential.
  • Early Childhood Education Care qualifications highly regarded.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Education qualifications or willingness to obtain.
  • Paid Blue card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain. Restricted persons need not apply.
