The successful applicant will be guided into their new role during an extended handover period with our existing Centre Manager and given ongoing support from our experienced Area Manager. As the majority of our promotions generally occur from within, this is a rare opportunity to join the management team at Building Futures Montessori.

About The Role:

Together with our full time Educational Leader and Administration Assistant, and the experienced on-the-floor Assistant Centre Managers you will inspire, mentor, and lead our team of educators to maintain an inclusive, supportive, fun and friendly environment for both educators and families alike. Working within our established family-owned business, you will have direct access to the support and guidance of our experienced Leadership Team who are as invested in your success as you are.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership of centre staff to ensure provision of high-quality education and care.
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the centre including oversight of enrolments, centre finances, staffing.
  • Being hands-on in curriculum management, facilities oversight and staff development and management.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and educational frameworks.
  • Fulfilling the responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor as defined by ACECQA.

You’ll be an initiative-taker, comfortable communicating with parents, children, and team members, with a genuine interest in building successful collaborative relationships with everyone associated with our Centre. You understand the value of servant leadership in modelling the behaviours and attitudes that build a positive and collaborative culture. Seeing your team thrive and overcome challenges brings you satisfaction. You are able to juggle the many varied responsibilities that managing a bustling childcare centre entails, effortlessly transitioning between settings. From budget review meetings and educator one-on-ones to parent meetings and staff birthday celebrations, you take it all in your stride. When challenges arise you respond proactively, employing a solution-focused approach to reach a resolution that considers all stakeholders.

Experience in a Montessori setting is highly recommended as a foundation for your success with formal Montessori training preferred, although the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised Diploma in Montessori Education (0-6) through our RTO MECTA is available and funded for the right candidate.

Selection Criteria

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher (essential).
  • Diploma of Montessori (highly preferred) or willing to obtain.
  • Previous experience in a Centre Management role.
  • Proven experience leading and inspiring individuals and teams to achieve success.
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG).
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and relationship-skills with a genuine empathic interest in people.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
  • Current Blue card. Restricted persons need not apply.
  • First Aid & CPR certification or willing to obtain.
